FED Fitness SR2 All-In-One Squat Rack Review: Is This 20-Attachment Power Rack Legit?
I have put a lot of squat racks in my garage over the years, and most of them have one thing in common: the moment you actually load them up and start moving real weight, they start talking back. A little shimmy on the rack pull. A creak when you re-rack a heavy squat. That tiny wobble that makes you shorten the set by a rep because your brain does not fully trust the steel. The FED Fitness SR2 All-In-One Squat Rack is the first rack in a while that did not do any of that, and after living with it I have a lot to say about why.
FED Fitness sent this one over because I am a certified personal trainer and they wanted an honest demonstration rather than a polished ad. So that is exactly what this is. Here is the build, all 20 attachments, every exercise I actually run on it, what solo assembly is really like, and the one thing I would change.

Build Quality: 13-Gauge Steel and Why It Matters
The SR2 runs 3 x 3-inch uprights in 13-gauge steel with an 1,100-pound total weight capacity. If those numbers do not mean much to you yet, here is the translation: 3×3 uprights are commercial-gym dimensions, and 13-gauge is the thickness of the tubing wall. A lot of budget racks use 2×2 uprights in 14-gauge or thinner, and that is where the flex comes from. Thicker walls and wider posts mean the rack resists twisting when your load is not perfectly centered, which, if we are being honest, is most reps.
The 1,100-pound rating is more than almost anyone reading this will ever need, and that is the point. You do not want a rack rated exactly at your working max. You want enormous headroom so the thing feels boring and inert underneath you. The SR2 feels boring in the best possible way.
The Six-Point Stability System
This is the headline feature and the reason the rack behaves the way it does. A standard power rack is a four-post box: four uprights, four contact points on the floor. The SR2 adds two additional stabilizing points for six total, which widens the base of support and changes how force travels when you load the rack unevenly.
Where you feel this most is on the movements that pull the rack rather than press down into it. Pull-ups are the obvious one. On a four-post rack that is not bolted down, a heavier lifter kipping or even just doing controlled dead-hang pull-ups can get the whole frame rocking front to back. On the SR2, I did not get that. Same story on rack pulls and anything where the bar comes off the pins at an angle. The extra footprint does its job.
Practical note: six points also means you need six points of reasonably level floor. On a garage slab with a drainage slope, shim before you finalize. It takes ten minutes and it is the difference between a rack that feels welded to the ground and one that rocks a millimeter on every rep.
All 20 Attachments (And Which Ones You’ll Actually Use)
Twenty attachments sounds like marketing math, and partly it is. Let me be straight with you about the split, because this is where “all-in-one” racks either earn their price or quietly become a coat rack with extra parts.
The ones I reach for every single week: the J-cups, the safety arms, the pull-up bar, the dip handles, and the landmine attachment. That is the core five. If a rack gets those right, it covers the overwhelming majority of what a serious home gym needs to do. The SR2 gets them right, and the J-cups have proper UHMW lining so you are not grinding knurling off your bar every time you re-rack.
The ones that earn their keep situationally: the weight plate storage pegs and the barbell holder. Not glamorous, but if you have ever tripped over a 45 in a small garage you understand why storage is a training feature, not an accessory.
The ones that will sit in a bin: there are always a few, and that is fine. Every all-in-one ships attachments that suit somebody else’s programming. Do not let the count of 20 be the reason you buy, and do not let a few unused pieces be the reason you do not. Judge the rack on the core five and the steel.
Every Exercise I Run on the SR2
In the video I actually demonstrate all of these rather than just listing them, because how a rack handles a movement matters more than whether it technically permits it.
- Back squats. Set the safeties one to two inches below your lowest bar position in the hole. Test it with an empty bar first: squat down, set the bar on the pins, and make sure you can actually get out from under it. Do that once, on day one, and you never have to think about it again.
- Bent over rows. Pull the pins low and use them as a hard floor so you can reset your hinge between reps without rounding to pick the bar back up.
- Deadlifts. Pulled from the floor inside the rack footprint. Plenty of room, no shin-to-upright issues.
- Hip thrusts. The safeties become your bar cradle at bench height, which is a genuinely underrated use of a rack. Load, scoot under, drive through the heels, and keep the ribs down at lockout.
- Pull-ups. This is the six-point stability test, and it passes.
- Bulgarian split squats. Rear foot elevated off a bench inside the rack with the safeties set as a bailout. If you have never used safeties on Bulgarians, try it once. Being able to fail without consequence is what lets you actually push the set.
That last point is the real argument for a rack this stable. Training alone without a spotter is the default for most of us, and a rack you trust is the thing that lets you take a set to genuine effort instead of stopping two reps early on instinct.
Solo Assembly: How Long It Really Takes
I built this one by myself. Budget an afternoon and you will be comfortable. The uprights are heavy enough that a second person genuinely helps when you are standing the frame up, so if you have someone available, use them for that one step.
The one assembly tip that saves the most grief: leave every bolt finger-tight until the entire frame is standing and squared. If you fully torque as you go, you will hit a hole that will not line up and you will be backing out four bolts to fix it. Loose through the whole build, then square it, then go around and torque everything down.
What I’d Change
No honest review is all upside. The footprint is real, and it is bigger than a standard four-post because of the stability system. Measure your space before you order, and account for pull-up clearance overhead and room to walk the bar out. In a tight single-car garage this rack will define the room.
I would also like clearer labeling on the hardware in the box. When you are 20 bolts deep on an afternoon build, sorted and labeled bags are a small thing that makes a real difference.
Is the FED Fitness SR2 Worth It?
Here is my honest read. If you are building a home gym from scratch and you want one purchase that covers squats, presses, pulls, dips and accessory work without a second thought, the SR2 makes sense. The steel spec is legitimately good, the six-point base solves a real problem rather than an invented one, and the core attachments are the right ones.
If you already own a solid 3×3 rack that does not move on you, this is not an upgrade worth chasing. But if your current rack wobbles every time you load it up, and you have caught yourself shortening sets because of it, that is exactly the problem this thing was built to fix.
