What is the Best Bowflex Home Gym of 2022?
1. Bowflex Blaze Home Gym
The Bowflex Blaze home gym takes our top spot as the best Bowflex gym of 2022.
The Blaze is very similar to one of the previous models, the Ultimate 2, which was one of the most popular earlier models due to its design and options.Pros:
While the Blaze takes up a bit more room when assembled, it is one of the only remaining models with the sliding seat design, perfect for aerobic rowing exercises and leg presses, which are must-have staples for any workout regimen.
The sliding seat rail allows you to perform aerobic rowing, while leg presses allow an intense circuit workout that will get any athlete ready to go strong again after just one session on this amazing machine!
The Blaze comes with a standard power rod resistance of 210 lbs but is one of the models that allow for a weight resistance upgrade up to 410 pounds, leaving more room for growing stronger and having the right tool to do so.
The Blaze does not disappoint, as its price point (often under $900 on Amazon) and the number of exercises due to its design make this the best Bowflex home gym of 2022.
2. Bowflex Xceed Home Gym
The best Bowflex machine budget pick for 2022 is the Bowflex Xceed Home Gym.
The Bowflex Xceed Home gym can be picked up frequently for under $700 on Amazon, and it has an upgrade option for up to 310 pounds (from the standard 210 resistance pounds).Pros:
And although the Xceed does not have the option for leg presses similar to the Blaze, it does have a squat bar accessory, allowing for stand-up squat exercises.
One unique feature of the Xceed is that it also has an additional option for placement of the pulleys (right behind the shoulders), which the Blaze does not offer.
Because of this optional placement, the Xceed flaunts that up to 65 different exercises are available, compared to the 60 of the Blaze.
At its price point, its option to upgrade resistance weight, and its ability to move pulley placement for more exercises, the Bowflex Xceed has exceeded our expectations.
3. Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym
Third on the list is the Bowflex PR1000 Home Gym.
You may notice that the PR1000 looks much like the Blaze above, and you are right. That said, there are two main differences between the two, the price and the options.Pros:
While the PR1000 comes in several hundred dollars cheaper typically than the Blaze, there is not any ability to upgrade the power rod resistance.
Currently, the PR1000 comes with the standard 210 pounds of resistance, but with no ability to upgrade, you may find yourself abandoning your Bowflex machine for something with more weight.
It also does not come with a lat pulldown bar (which most models do) nor a squat bar, and the total number of different exercises is promoted by Bowflex as 25, much lower than other models.
But at its price point (typically around the $600 range) and because it does offer the ability as an aerobic rowing machine and still has decent weight resistance, the Bowflex PR1000 makes out the top 6 best Bowflex list of 2022.
4. Bowflex Xtreme 2 SE Home Gym
The Bowflex Xtreme 2SE Home Gym is probably the model with the most features, the most possible exercises, and up to 410-pound upgrade.
It also gives the most available places to place your pulleys for many variaPros:
So why is the Xtreme 2se not the #1 best Bowflex home gym? The price.
The Bowflex Xtreme 2SE is around $1500 on the Bowflex website, twice as much as our most recommended model above.
And while this Bowflex machine does offer more overall exercise options due to multiple available places to put the pulleys, it does not provide the ability to do aerobic rowing, which many people enjoy.
The Xtreme 2SE model does offer a lot of possible exercises.
Still, in my experience, people tend to only concentrate on the same 30 or 40 total different exercises, so you may never use the remainder.
That said, the Xtreme 2SE is excellent, and if a lot of variants of exercises id your thing and money is not an issue, this may be the unit for you.
5. Bowflex Revolution Home Gym
The Bowflex Revolution Home Gym is one of the first models to abandon the older Bowflex models with the power rod resistance feature.
The new system, called Spiraflex, eliminates the power rod resistance instead of inertia-based cable resistance.Pros:
The Bowflex Revolution also abandons the old design of a lat tower and has two moving arms, each with ten available positions for workout angle variation.
Because of the multi-angle arms and the sliding seat design that we have seen in previous models, the Bowflex Revolution boasts over 100 exercises available with the unit.
Although those features are tremendous and a significant step forward in the evolution of the Bowflex brand, the Revolution has two major flaws.
First, the unit comes with a base of 210 pounds of resistance and is available up to 300 pounds (Bowflex says with the leg press, this weight is equal to 600 pounds), but no further as are available on some other units.
The second issue is the price. Being a newer model and design, the Bowflex is priced at just under $3,000 on the Bowflex website.
So yes, the Bowflex Revolution has a ton of features and offers a ton of exercise options.
Still, at its price point, it will not be an option for many looking for a Bowflex machine.
In my opinion, it should only be considered a viable option by those more experienced in the fitness realm.
It isn’t the best Bowflex option for most, but few will appreciate its features, especiallt the Spiraflex technology.
6. Bowflex PR3000 Home Gym
The Bowflex PR3000 is a great total-body home gym that requires no cable changes between sets.
With over 50 strength exercises and an easy-to-use Quick Change Power Rod technology system, this piece of equipment will have you looking strong in no time!Pros:
While the Bowflex PR3000 has many features, it’s got one that no other unit has; the Quick Change Power Rod® system.
This system allows you to switch between power rods and several different exercises and positions without needing to adjust the cables between movements manually.
The PR3000 comes with the traditional 210 pounds weight but is upgradable to 310. Unfortunately, that’s the highest this goes.
As we have seen with other best Bowflex machines, there is a recommended number of available exercises, with the Bowflex PR3000 home gym being 50.
The unit does also have the ability for leg extension and leg curls with its four-inch upholstered roller cushions.
This is a very compact unit, but there is no option for any rowing exercises. But, it is a space saver.
The PR3000 is one of their older units, and even though they have stopped selling it on the Bowflex website, Bowflex still sells the unit through Amazon.
If you are looking for a compact unit and don’t care about the rowing, this is worth a look.
The above-mentioned Xceed offers a similar style setup, the same compact features, and more available exercises. However, it does not have the quick change, which might be important to some.
Why Should I Buy A Bowflex Machine?
Buying a Home Gym is a big purchase, so before you pull the trigger, there are a few things you should ask yourself:
- Why should I buy a Bowflex versus other brands?
- Is The Bowflex Quality Good?
- Why do I want a Bowflex home gym?
- What are my plans once I get my Bowflex?
- Which of the Bowflex machines is right for me?
Why should I buy a Bowflex machine versus other brands?
The Bowflex machine is a well-known home gym brand, having been around since 1986.
These home gyms are an affordable option for home workouts and strength training, especially for those who are not interested in or not ready to go to a public gym.
While Bowflex is well known, their home gyms, like other brand home gyms, only work when used. The best home gym brand is the home gym you will use.
Bowflex strives to create home gyms with many options and exercise opportunities.
They help the user find it easy to engage with and use in a way that brings results.
Is the Bowflex quality good? What are these home gyms made of?
The quality of a Bowflex home gym depends on many factors.
The most important factor is the quality of the materials used to make it.
Most Bowflex home gym models use power rod technology and are made from high-quality materials, such as heavy-duty steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
However, there are some lower-quality models that use cheaper materials, such as plastic.
Another factor that affects the quality of a Bowflex home gym is the assembly.
Some models are easier to assemble than others. If you’re unfamiliar with assembling a home gym, choosing a model with easy-to-follow instructions is best.
Finally, the warranty is another important factor when choosing a Bowflex home gym.
Some models come with limited warranties, while others offer full coverage.
If you’re unsure which warranty is right for you, it’s best to contact the manufacturer.
Why do I want a Bowflex home gym? Is the Bowflex worth it?
Ask yourself, “Why Do I want a Bowflex home gym?“
What is it that is motivating you? Do you want to change? Do you want to get healthier or maybe feel better?
Buying a Bowflex, or any strength training or workout equipment is an investment.
Take some time to understand your motivations for considering Bowflex machines and ensure that a home gym is a correct answer to the question.
But Is The Bowflex Home Gym System Worth The Price?
To the question of whether or not a Bowflex is worth it, there is no definitive answer to this question since it depends on each individual’s fitness goals and budget.
That being said, many believe that a Bowflex gym provides an excellent value for the price.
These machines offer a wide range of features and can accommodate multiple users, making them ideal for families or anyone who wants to get a great full-body workout at home.
Additionally, Bowflex machines are built to last, so you can expect years of use from your investment.
Ultimately, the decision of whether or not a Bowflex gym is worth the cost is up to the individual buyer.
What are my plans once I get my Bowflex machine? How will I use it?
One of the biggest mistakes anybody can make when it comes to purchasing full body workout equipment is underestimating the amount of effort that will be required to get your money’s worth out of it.
People often presume that physical results will inevitably follow simply by investing the money and assembling the home gym machine.
That’s not how it works.
Getting in shape, losing weight, getting stronger…these take effort, energy, and time.
So picture yourself with your new Bowflex machine.
What do you picture yourself doing with it? How much time can you commit to using it? Do you want to build muscle and get stronger?
Visualize yourself using the unit, and think of ways to take advantage of all the features a Bowflex can offer.
The Bowflex can’t change you…but you can change with the help of Bowflex!
Which of one the Bowflex home gyms is right for me?
Even though I gave my recommendation for the best Bowflex home gym of 2022, you might find that one of the other models has a specific feature that better suits you and your needs.
What features are important to you? The rowing machine? The full bench? Do you bench press? What about strength training, working legs and upper body?
Bowflex machines need a mix of suitable options and prices to be the right one, so spend some time researching online, looking at reviews, and deciding what’s best for YOU!
